View my interview with Fibre Arts Take Two
One of the most delightful aspects of digital printing is making your own surfaces to print with. We’ll create backgrounds, photographs for sneaky layering and printing surfaces, touch on simple transfers and collage.
Expand your vision of a digital print. This approach to digital printing has the capacity to produce unique and original results.
Participants will learn to create distinctive and customized printing substrates using fabrics, art papers, interfacing, mediums and other created materials. The types of substrates that can be used are nearly limitless!
Participants will combine their photography with unusual substrates viva sneaky layering techniques and other photo blending app’s.
Participants will be introduced to inkjet printing with digital grounds, ideas for mixing it up and a variety of ideas for presenting your work. Never before have there been so many opportunities to express yourself digitally!

Digital Mixed Media
The act of noticing, of paying attention, increases awareness of photographic opportunities. These treasured moments are captured in a media mix of fiber, paper, pine needles, stitching and surface design.
Technique- Original image was inkjet printed by artist on digital ready created kozo papers of embedded pine needles. Pearl digital grounds, by inkAid, create a soft pearlescent glow. Image was photographed while looking out the window of the NYC Metropolitan Museum of Art, was edited and divided into 6 13x17 sections for a resulting piece of about 26x54. Image was treated with satin varnish and stitched all over with c shapes to mimic the pine needle shapes. Thread were allowed to drape casually to add texture. Glass bead medium was liberally applied to the foreground to highlight the snowy winter scene. Edges painted with silver paint.
Materials- pine needles, kozo paper, Pearl digital grounds, satin medium, silver paint, and glass bead medium.

Hi Everyone! I'm uploading a series of 10 or more small videos that highlight techniques in my book, Digital Fiber Art and other Mixed Media Surfaces on You Tube!
Hi!
I've been making all sorts of journals for years now. One of the easiest and quickest is the simple signature journal. I'll share a few steps, how-to's, here but first here's a picture off the internet where you can find more on this. This journal has 2 more holes on either side of center. But you can choose how many holes you want!
Art is so many things it is hard to pin down.
