Collage for Printing Basics
glue onto substrate. I like painted interfacing best. See favorite products for link.
Glue down with gel medium. It doesn't wrinkle papers.
Allow to dry and apply InkAid. Another favorite product. It creates a longer lasting and clear result. This shows Golden Digital Grounds, now discontinued, but were made by InkAid.
I used one coat of white which slightly mutes the colors.
I might use a black and white image as I have colors on my collage. But you can use any image as long as it's somewhat strong.
detail of result using a strongly saturated image. See the collage bits in background.
Full image. Good Luck!!

Icy inspiratons
Sometimes I wander
Through the woods
near lakes and streams
watching
to see what catches my eye
to see what natural joys
will enter my heart
bidden but never expected
it never seizes to surprise
and amaze
I bring those stimulating muses
returning
to my studioto show up again
in artful inspirations

FANTASTIC FIBERS 2025
Lovely to be accepted into Fantastic Fibers 2025!
Beyond the Abby Window
Digital Fiber
Materials- recycled book pages, artist printed digital silk organza, scrim, pearl cotton, stitched text, hand stitching.
Techniques- manipulated artist imagery and inkjet printed by artist on digital ready materials.
A divided photograph, printed on old book pages, fractures the view while the same image, printed on digital silk organza, floats above creating an almost 3-D effect. A collage of white silk organza with scrim and tissue lifts creates a surround. Machine and hand stitched.
32hx22wText- The old walls
glisten with age
setting
off a single arched window,
shimmering
a golden radiance
from
the sunlit vista beyond.
The
distance rumble of ocean waves,
fill
the nearly empty room,
echoing
from the bay below.
Catching
smells of damp salty air,
I
felt transported across the ages
to
when Iona Abby was first used.
There’s
a certain peace within
as
if the prayers of so many, so long ago,
still
reverberated, bound in its walls,
captured
in stone for me and
anyone
else who cares to listen.

Featured on The Quilt Show with Ricky Tims and Alex Anderson 2025!
Excited to share I made an appearance on The Quilt Show, #3602, Jan 19 2025!
“On the next Quilt Show, Wen Redmond takes her art to the next level with her experimentation in fiber, mixed media, and photography—pushing creative boundaries in ways you've never seen before.
Wen says, "I make art, but then my art makes me." You won’t want to miss this. She’s even discovered how to make her images holographic, and now she’s ready to show you how. Plus, see how We adds texture to her images using products like molding paste and Ink Aid—it's something we couldn't believe until we saw it ourselves!”
