Collage Creation 2

gathering my dried painted cotton duck to create a base
ripping and reassembling to jive up the marks and create a secondary texture.
added a 'backing' of black organza that had been sprayed lightly with gold Seta Color
adding paper to create a focal point- in this case, an ink jet copy of my work & joss paper

adding a 'square' of black organza
torn a free form piece of paper to add as a mask and sprayed with turquoise Dyna-Flow paint
some back to see what's next!

Easy Stencil Creation

I've had success making my own stencils with 4ml painters plastic.
There is even heavier weight plastic you can choose to use.
They're lightweight, easy to clean & store. If you need them slightly stiffer, tape edges with heavy duty duck tape.
Nice too since they're transparent, you can place over design and trace.

If you want to repeat your stencil designs, they're thin enough to use as a mask for silkscreens.

Can't Resist? Leaves, feathers and String, Oh My!

Recently I held a Resists Workshop that is part of my Fabric Transformations  Series.
We had a blast. We started with resists you apply and wash out, then moved on to removable masks and finished with discharge.   Pictured here, from top, is a fleather resist with discharge, leaf resist with spray paint and string and glue.
