This is one of three of my newest works that didn't make the cut for Quilt National. This was my favorite.
Depicts a pile of rocks collaged digitally with a journal page. Printed on pre-treated digital canvas. Stitched with several colors of thread for design emphasis. Cut apart & tied with a type of bookbinding knot. Edges finished with paint.

This is my tribute to love of
nature, to bring awareness to our 21st problem of the environmental crisis.
Our tender earth needs our help. Industrial farming is reducing the varieties
of food. Varieties created over centuries. Pesticides are contributing to
disease. Our reliance on petroleum based products, oil, plastics
and Styrofoam, are killing us. When we will take action?
When the earth
remembers?

My pieces for Quilt National failed to make the cut this year as well.... nice to know that I am in esteemed company!! but having been in the last two...time to give someone else a turn.

Lovely piece - wonderful colours and great thoughts.....
This is a lovely piece and with a message that everyone should listen to. Love the grays and neutral colors.

A beautiful piece .... it feels like a sacred offering, bringing awareness to something so precious.
Thank you- it actually is 2 pix of things I hold dear- my rock pile shrine and page from my journal, combined in Photoshop and overlaid with another pix of my painted fabric.
so in a very special way it is sacred. my art are my prayers
