Delighted that my work "Amazements of the Tender Reflections" will be part of the Dinner at Eight Artist's "Reflections" exhibition at International Quilt Market Festival in Houston!
International Quilt Market October 25-27
International Quilt Festival October 30-Nov 2
Houston Texas
Amazements of the Tender Reflections began as a digital collage of several
photographs- outdoor imagery and
image of stitched water color water with a 'bloom' of color,
These were layered in Photoshop with an additional image of painted fabric, which I didn't save. The resulting picture is close to the finished one except for size.
The image was sized correctly and printed on digital ready cotton broadcloth.
Several areas
of the printed image were painted back into and additional images were added viva image
transfer and an Anais Nin quote was written toward the bottom.
The finished
pieces were cut apart, edge stitched and sealed and finished with paint. The
segments were hand tied together for somewhat kinetic effects
The Houston exhibit was curated by Jamie Fingal and Leslie Tucker Jenison
