published in 500 Traditional Quilts

Jonathan's Dream
'Jonathan's Dream' 1985, is a folk quilt based on our home at that time. Daughter in doorway, dad with cows ( we had them at that time) myself and my son on right.
First Star Farm
First Star Farm'  1984, 1984, isis a traditional house; tree blocks with a charm twist. I used all different fabrics to construct this piece.
First and Last Star
'First and Last Star' center star has points from a striped fabric coming together to make another design. The swags are 3-D, not flat and my children's hands are quilted in the interior between the leaves.

Stalking the Wild Prints Meets Green Mixed Media Journal

My last workshop was a combo of Stalking the Wild Prints and Green Mixed Media Journal.
A lovely combination!
Front Cover
First we will build an up-cycled journal to use for our printing samples.
pages made from recycled cards & junk mail
gesso, paint & texture!
Besides being easy and lots of fun to make, the materials are free and don’t add to the landfills. The journal can be made as simply or as artfully as your muse suggests.
nature prints on all kinds of substrates
Gather found natural items to print like leaves, grass, and ferns- perfect to get outside!
sample prints glued in
We'll experience a type of printmaking, very simple, easy and you won't want to stop! This technique is similar to a monotype, the incidental and the unintended become part of the image.

Invitation to my Studio

I am so pleased to announce my studio is currently being featured in Cloth Paper Scissors Studio Magazine Fall 2010, available now.
I’ve included a few more shots of the studio for you. I usually have visitors during annual Open Studio events around Thanksgiving and Mothers day and during workshops. Here’s a peek just for you.
It was a delight to work again with Cate Coulacos Prato, Editor at Studios and Barbara Delaney, Assistant Editor. They took the article and really made a great 4 page spread. I hope you will take a break and come my studio!

Dreams and Effort plus Perseverance

I have been sending images to a couple of my favorite magazines for awhile. Don't even know exacting how long. One of my absolute favorites is the lovely slightly weightier pages of Surface Design Journal. This is where I go to see how other artists push fiber arts into ART.
This is where I go to feel justified at my efforts to do ART. This is one of the magazines that create the juice of inspiration. And I have just been published in their Exposure section. A Great BIG juicy surprise, a pure delight!
