Note from a Serendipitous Workshop Participant

A Note from my lovely hostess from the Souhegan Valley Quilt Guild in Milford NH!

I finished my project in time for our quilt show a few weeks go. I am pleased with how it became a memory quilt of my former life as owner of a children's boutique! I called it "Outside My Comfort Zone"!!!
When it hangs in my studio, it hangs as a triptych on a black bamboo rod, spaced evenly across.

Thanks for a wonderful class! We all loved it and you made us all stretch!

Workshop: We will make a several different presentations of collage, including fabric-based postcards, and small collages on watercolor paper mounts. We will create a variety of painted and printed fabrics and papers using general acrylics and fabric paints. Techniques will include different painting techniques, image transfer, mono printing, sun printing, resists and an introduction to some medium enhancements. This workshop encourages the use of recycled materials and supplies you already have. Focus will be on spontaneous creativity and freedom of expression while creating green art.

Super EASY & Quick Collage Method!

Have you heard of tape transfer?

Gather non-glossy paper such as newspaper, inkjet print outs, copiers papers and similar papers.
Then, select any clear tape- shiny, invisible or matt tape, packing tape, etc and any width too.

Simply press a short piece of tape onto paper, holding an end so it’s easy to peel off. Peeling will adhere bits of paper to the tape. Press this onto another piece of paper to use as your background.
Use the section of tape that you were holding to adhere any loose ends from previous transfers.

Don’t worry if more paper comes off as you peel the tape as you can bury it under additional pieces of tape.
